Do you accept my insurance?

How long does a first appointment take?

New patient appointments are 60 minutes. We take a full history, perform any needed testing, discuss results, and build an initial treatment plan — all in one visit.

Is skin prick testing painful?

Most patients describe it as uncomfortable rather than painful — similar to a mosquito bite. The pricks are very shallow and don't draw blood. We routinely test children as young as 6 months old.

How soon can I get an appointment?

We typically have new patient appointments available within 1-2 weeks. Urgent cases can often be seen the same or next day. Book online or call our office directly.

Do I need to stop my allergy medications before testing?

Accepted Answer

Yes — antihistamines can interfere with skin prick results. You'll need to stop oral antihistamines (like Zyrtec, Allegra, or Claritin) 5-7 days before testing. Nasal sprays and inhalers are fine to continue. We'll send you a detailed pre-visit checklist when you book.

How long does immunotherapy take to work?

Most patients notice improvement within 6-12 months. The full treatment course is typically 3-5 years. After completing treatment, the benefits often last for many years.

Can children receive allergy shots?

Yes. Children as young as 5 can safely receive immunotherapy, and many of our youngest patients benefit significantly. We tailor the schedule to what works for school and family life.

What if my asthma is severe?

We have extensive experience with severe asthma, including biologic therapies like omalizumab, mepolizumab, dupilumab, and tezepelumab. We'll evaluate whether you're a candidate and coordinate with your pulmonologist as needed.
