Dr. Taina Lopez-Cartagena, DNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, AHN-BC

Taina Lopez-Cartagena, DNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, AHN-BC, is a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (American Nurses Credentialing Center and American Association of Nurse Practitioners) with more than fifteen years in nursing — over ten of them in advanced practice across primary, urgent, and specialty care. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Yale University, where she was a Gruber Fellowship and Diers Scholarship recipient, and her Master of Science from New York University, graduating with Distinction with an advanced holistic nursing specialty.

Taina spent nearly a decade caring for one of New York's most underserved communities at Morris Heights Health Center in the Bronx — spanning primary care, school-based health, women's health, and telemedicine — and has practiced at Columbia University Medical Center and in urgent care across the lifespan. That breadth shows up in how she manages asthma, allergies, eczema, and chronic respiratory conditions: thorough evaluation, clear explanations, and treatment plans patients can actually live with.

She is also board-certified in advanced holistic nursing (AHN-BC) and a certified clinical aromatherapy practitioner — an integrative lens that means she looks at the whole patient, not just the symptom: home and workplace triggers, daily routines, stress, and the long-term goals that matter to each family.

Beyond the clinic, Taina has taught the next generation of nurses as an adjunct professor at NYU's Rory Meyers College of Nursing since 2017, and has served in healthcare leadership as president-elect of the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives' Tri-State chapter.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Taina is dedicated to improving healthcare access, communication, and outcomes for the diverse communities she serves.
